Diagnostic Services
JTS has specialist consultants qualified to use leading psychometric
diagnostic and development tools. These provide a reliable and cost effective
measure of the personal attributes connected with job performance and
can significantly enhance a range of consultant interventions.
Broadly there are two types of psychometric instrument:
- those which measure maximum performance or how well you can do something
(often called ability tests e.g. verbal skills, numerical skills, mechanical
aptitude, speed/accuracy of processing information). Common examples
are ABLE series, Morrisby series, Ravens series.
- those which measure ‘typical’ performance or how we tend
to react in particular situations (inventories or questionnaires e.g.
personality, motivation, values, attitudes). Common examples are Myers
Briggs Type Indicator, 16PF - personality questionnaire, FIRO-B - instrument
for understanding relationships and behaviour, Belbin Team Roles.
Examples of Enhanced Interventions
Individual Development
Developing insight into areas such as individual ability, style, potential,
etc. in situations such as personal development training, coaching and
career counselling.
Team Development
Improving areas such as communication, problem solving, understanding
of others in team based and leadership training activities and facilitated
workshops.
Organisational Development
Insights into areas such as responses to change and understanding organisational
culture on training courses, workshops and management coaching and consultancy.
Selection and Development
Introducing increased objectivity and expanding the range of selection
tools in recruitment and promotion. Often used as part of a series of
approaches, such as interviews, simulations, presentations in an assessment
centre.
